Kentucky Wildcats

It’s virtually impossible to project what Kentucky‘s roster will look like two years from now at any position, other than noting that five-star commit Skyy Clark is currently part of that class. KcKneely’s shooting skills would give him a shot at being part of the rotation but the same was supposedly said of Johnny Juzang, who only played fewer than nine minutes a game before transferring back west to UCLA. He’ll have to prove that he’s up to the task defensively and on the ball to avoid that same fate.

Louisville Cardinals

After losing several key guards this offseason, the Cardinals did a great job recruiting future perimeter players. That includes the No. 1 JUCO commit El Ellis, who now has three years of eligibility at Louisville.

The team also has current sophomore David Johnson and three-star 2021 commit Bobby Pettiford, Jr. Compared to the Wildcats, the Cardinals offer a much better chance for McKneely for immediate and long-term playing time and he could have a similar role as recent former Cardinal guard Ryan McMahon.

North Carolina Tar Heels

Assuming that Caleb Love won’t be around for McKneely to worry about, the Tar Heels will still have Anthony Harris Jr., RJ Davis, and four-star 2021 commit D’Marco Dunn. Of course, expect the program to add big targets at lead guard, including five-star combo guard Hunter Sallis, along with whoever else emerges in the 2022 class. McKneely will have to watch to see who else North Carolina lands in the next year to see where he’d stand, or risk not having much playing time.
