Nebraska Basketball had a miserable first season under Fred Hoiberg. This year the roster is remade again with the eyes set towards the future.

Year two of the Fred Hoiberg era in Lincoln is about to get started and the offseason could not have gone much better. Nebraska Basketball secured their highest recruiting class of all time for the 2021 season and the overall class ranks in the top 20 nationally and Nebraska signed their first five-star recruit ever in Bryce McGowens. The excitement for the program, especially given the recent downturn of the football program, has never been higher.

Year one under coach Hoiberg was not what anyone envisioned. The Huskers were miserable, and they enter the season on a current 17 game losing streak, which is one of the longest in the entire country. Nebraska was arguably the worst power school in the country a year ago, and as a result, the coaching staff has decided to flip the roster again.

This marks the second consecutive season that Hoiberg and his staff have flipped the roster. This flip was done with more purpose and was not done just to assemble a roster, but this flip was done with the future in mind.

This year the Huskers appear to be better and have some more playmakers. They have one or two guys who should be able to take over games and help this team get some wins. Anyone who has followed the career of the Nebraska head coach knows that he values guys who can play multiple positions and he loves to shoot.

This year he has assembled the roster with some natural scorers and better shooters which will help the offense. The team also has a lot more athleticism and tons of length as they are the second tallest team in the Big Ten. That will help improve the defense this season. A defense that ranked dead last in the Big Ten last year and was one of the worst in the country as the Huskers allowed close to 80 points per game.

What will Nebraska look like when they take the floor?
