Their backcourt is elite at scoring

The three-guard combination of Remy Martin, Alonzo Verge Jr., and Josh Christopher is a combination that is going create mismatches. Unfortunately, the mismatches on defense will not solely be in their favor. As effective they are taking defenders off the dribble, they were equally as vulnerable to Collin Gillispie backing them down in the paint.

Arizona State as a team had only one assist in the first half and the trio of guards combined for seven of the Sun Devils’ eight in the game while committing five turnovers. Verge Jr. scored 22 points on 7 for 11 shooting with just six of those points coming outside the paint, as Christopher scored 28. Senior Martin who scored 26 versus Rhode Island struggled by shooting just two for eight and scoring five points.

Over the two games at Mohegan Sun Arena the Sun Devils demonstrated that they have three guards who can score twenty on any given night and going forward that is going to be their path to victory if they are going to stay in the top-25 and get some wins in March.
