NCAA Basketball: The last decade’s most random 40-point scorers
Kale Abrahamson (Drake): 41 Points
Through two seasons at Northwestern, Kale Abrahamson had averaged 4.4 points per game. In 2015, he transferred to Drake, located in his hometown of Des Moines, Iowa. Abrahamson took a bigger role as the Bulldogs’ starting power forward.
In his fourth game as a Drake Bulldog, Abrahamson went off for 41 points (13/23 FG, 4/10 3FG, 11/11 FT), including the go-ahead bucket in overtime, to beat Western Kentucky, 81-79. This outburst beat his 2015-16 season average by a full 30 points. For Drake, this was long-awaited revenge. The Hilltoppers had knocked Drake out of the 2008 NCAA Tournament on a Ty Rogers buzzer-beater.
Abrahamson finished his career as a graduate transfer at Duquesne. In 2017, Abrahamson left basketball to start a business venture, Nine University KT VIP. This company trains entrepreneurs on how to become profitable while selling on Amazon’s FBA program.
