Seton Hall needs to focus on not fouling

If you take a look at the free throws and fouls per team the numbers indicate that it was an evenly officiated game. The problem that the Pirates faced was that many of their main compliments to Sandro Mamukelashvili all found themselves in foul trouble. Ike Obiagu had 4, Shavar Reynolds 3, Tyrese Samuel 3, and Jared Rhoden fouled out.

If Seton Hall wants to have any type of success this year and develop any type of cohesion among their starting unit, they will need to work on playing without fouling. As players were shuffled in and out to work around the foul trouble, it was hard to find a consistent Seton Hall lineup all game.

It wasn’t until the Reynolds-Molson-Rhoden-Mamukelashvili-Obiagu lineup found consistent minutes together, toward the end of the game, that they were able to close the gap and put themselves in a position to challenge the Cardinal lead.

Moving forward if the Pirates are able to stay out of foul trouble and build the necessary chemistry they seemed to lack today the team should have no problem competing the rest of the year.
