UConn basketball started the season off 2-0 to start the 2020-2021 season, here are the biggest takeaways from the Huskies’ first two games.

Dan Hurley and his guys finish the first week of the season unscathed going 2-0 with a 102-75 win against Central Connecticut State and a 69-57 victory over Hartford. It was great to have UConn basketball back and there’s a lot to digest after their first two games.

UConn had anything but a normal offseason as they had just returned from a 14-day quarantine just days prior to the CCSU game. It took the Huskies some time to shake off some noticeable rust although a strong second-half showing saw them pulling away and win comfortably.

The Hartford game was a different story, UConn got off to a fast start but could never really pull away. The defensive intensity against Hartford was a lot better but the Huskies struggled on the offensive end for a long stretch at the end of the first half and into the second. UConn was able to keep Hartford at an arm’s length for most of the game but it was a frustrating watch.

Moving forward, the Huskies game against Vanderbilt on Tuesday, December 1st has been canceled, and at the point of writing this who knows what’s going to happen. There are lots to look forward to and this is a fun team to watch. Prior to the Huskies’ next contest here’s an in-depth look at some of the biggest takeaways for UConn in their first two games.
