Kansas Basketball: 3 takeaways from win over Kentucky in Champions Classic
They are always in the game
As demonstrated in their comeback victory Tuesday night, the Kansas Jayhawks are too good of a team to not make the game competitive. Even against a superior team like Gonzaga, who took advantage of their height, the Jayhawks scored 90 points and were within a couple of consecutive stops of getting back into the game.
Their small ball lineup is a constant threat to push the ball up court off of rebounds, pick up the ball handler at three-quarter court while showing different looks in their half-court defense with their ability to switch among the guards. As their offense struggled to start the game by only scoring five points in the first nine minutes, the Jayhawks were down just 10 points.
At a 79.2 pace of play and a 37 percent success rate from behind the arc, expect their attempts to increase from just over 19 as their ineptness in the paint becomes more prevalent.
