Rhode Island vs. Wisconsin: 2020-21 college basketball game preview, TV schedule
A schedule change will give us Rhode Island looking to pull off the upset against Wisconsin this week.

On Monday morning, Jon Rothstein reported that the matchup between the No. 25 Louisville Cardinals and the No. 13 Wisconsin Badgers were being put on hold due to COVID-19 cases in the Louisville program.
There is still hope that Louisville and Wisconsin would play later in the week. The No.13 Wisconsin Men’s Basketball team announced that their game with Louisville has been postponed and that both schools would be exploring alternative dates.
The Rhode Island Rams (3-2) are rated as the No. 72 team on KenPom and are currently on a three-game winning streak. Rhody started off to a slow start at 0-2 after suffering losses to Arizona State and Boston College. As of recent, Rhody has had shown some momentum.
Fatts Russell continues to show he’s one of the most talented players in college basketball. Russell is averaging 17.6 points per game and has been impactful when on the court for the Rams. Ishmael Leggett, A-10 Rookie of the Week, was perfect from the floor in Rhody’s win over Seton Hall, en route to his second straight 11-point performance.
The frontcourt has shaped up to be dangerous when needed for the Rams. Antwan Walker has been a consistent contributor in his second season for David Cox’s program. The Rams also have depth with Jermaine Harris, Makhi, and Makhel Mitchell.
Wisconsin opened up the season ranked No.7 on the AP Top 25 preseason poll. The Badgers (3-1) are coming off their first loss of the season in a buzzer-beating upset to Marquette. The Badgers were ranked No. 4 at the time of their loss, they are now ranked No. 13 in the AP poll.
Wisconsin is a deep team as the 2019-20 Big Ten regular-season champs are essentially bringing back the vast majority of their team from last season. In addition, the Badgers had a solid class of recruits this offseason.
Ben Carlson, a 4-star recruit, which helps the future of the Badgers. The Badgers have lots of experience as they have several seniors with great leadership. One of those players is Micah Potter who is averaging 12.8 points per game and shooting 60 percent from the field.
This is a big opportunity for Rhode Island to pull off a major upset. The Rams will have to adjust during this last-minute travel to Wisconsin. This is a talented Badgers team that could very well finish in the Final Four this season. The Rams will have to transition their mindset to Wednesday when they take on Micah Potter and the Wisconsin Badgers.
