TV schedule: Sunday, December 13th, 9:30 pm ET. Check local listings

Arena: Galen Center in Los Angeles, California

The USC Trojans have got off to a (4-1) start this season after defeating UC Irvine (91-56). The Trojans made 12 three-pointers and shot 51% from the field. Noah Baumann and Tahj Eaddy were a combined 7-11 for three. USC getting production from their guards is huge considering what they get out of the Mobley brothers.

The Trojan’s best player is star freshman Evan Mobley. Mobley, who figures to be a top pick in the 2021 NBA draft is averaging (17.6 PPG) and (9.0 RPG) on the season. His inside out play along with his ability to block shots has really helped USC so far this year. The play of Mobley is certainly something important to focus on.

Transfer Drew Peterson has been incredible this year for the Trojans. Peterson, a transfer from Rice is their 2nd leading scorer at 12.0 PPG and is shooting 60.6% from the field. Guard play was a big unknown for USC this year and Peterson has helped provide stability there.

Stanford is (2-2) on the season and is coming off a road win against North Carolina A&T (78-46). Due to Santa Clara County’s Covid-19 protocols, the Cardinal have not been able to play a game at home this season.

Stanford is led by seniors Oscar da Silva (17.3 PPG) and Daejon Davis (14.5 PPG). Freshman Ziaire Williams has gotten off to a slow start during his freshmen season (9.8 PPG). He is a very talented player and is due to get going soon.

The Cardinal is known as an excellent defensive team where according to Kenpom rank 5th in the country. But they struggle on the offensive end where they rank 80th. For Stanford to beat the more talented teams on their schedule players such as Williams need to step up.

dark. Next. 10 freshmen studs early on in 2020-21

This is a pretty even matchup and both teams have some good talent. I think the difference is that Evan Mobley will be too much for Stanford to handle and the Trojans should pull out the victory.

Prediction: Stanford 72-68 USC
