NCAA Basketball: Missouri, San Diego State rise in latest power rankings
The numerous upsets and big-time matchups have switched up many NCAA Basketball teams in the latest power rankings.
Our latest NCAA Basketball power rankings have been calculated, using the collective polls of eight talented writers and contributors from Busting Brackets. A total of 36 programs received votes in this week’s rankings, including UConn, Indiana, Virginia Tech, Michigan, UCLA, Arizona State, USC, and Arkansas. Interesting of note, neither Duke or Kentucky received a single vote this time, evidence of how far they’ve quickly fallen.
But others have. Here’s a look at the contributors of this week’s poll, as well as the three teams that finished just outside of the top 25.

28. Florida Gators
First off, our thoughts and prayers to Florida Basketball player Keyontae Johnson and his hopeful recovery in the coming days. The Gators fought valiantly without him afterward against Florida State but it was too much physically and emotionally for them to overcome. But this is a talented team with clear potential to be an SEC contender. For now, the focus should be on Johnson.
27. Xavier Musketeers
One of a few teams to even play seven games this season, the Musketeers are a perfect 7-0, coming off of wins against Oklahoma and Cincinnati. Sophomore forward Zach Freemantle is becoming a national star, averaging 18.7 ppg and 8.0 rpg so far. And more help is on the way, with high-scoring transfer Benjamin Stanley potentially being declared eligible this week.
26. Oregon Ducks
The Ducks have rebounded from their season-opening loss to Missouri with four straight wins, including beating Florida A&M and Pac-12 foe Washington. Four players scored between 12-14 points in a balanced effort, while St. John’s transfer LJ Figueroa had nine points and five rebounds off the bench. They have another Pac-12 clash this week, taking on UCLA.
