A battle for basketball supremacy takes place when No.3 Iowa collides with No.1 Gonzaga at Sioux Falls Arena. The team that emerges victorious will be crowned the top team in the nation.

With a number of quality games throughout this week to pique the interest of casual and die-hard fans alike, it is Saturday which will resemble Christmas coming early. Underneath the Christmas tree that is the NCAA Basketball schedule, are four nicely wrapped gifts that contain two nationally ranked teams facing off.

Even nicer; there is currently only one conflict, which means fans can watch North Carolina/Ohio State at 4 pm, and the opening act, the best for first, similar to P. Diddy opening up the American Music Awards in 2002, is the matchup that tips-off at 12 pm between No. 3 Iowa and No. 1 Gonzaga.

After the cancellation of the game between Baylor and Gonzaga on Dec. 5, 2020, speculation and anticipation turned toward Saturday’s game. Despite having players in the same position that is important, the manner in which these players impact the game is different. Winning every inch of the floor and every second will be important in deciding who comes out the victor.

The similarities between how these two teams are structured in terms of positions are destined to make this contest as memorable as Zeus versus Hades, Mario versus Wario, or last season’s Stephen F. Austin versus Duke game. This game will determine the No.1 team in the nation while sending a message that will be remembered in March. It will not be just the teams who remember who lost this game, but the Selection Committee as well while they are placing the one seeds.
