Louisville from the line

Not entirely groundbreaking, if a team makes shots from the free-throw line they can win the game easier. Might as well throw in defense and not turning the ball over and the winner can be presumed every time. However, the drama is the reason why this statistical category is going to be so important in determining which team emerges victorious.

The beauty of basketball is encompassed within this match-up, for what will lead the teams to victory, is precisely what the other guards so closely. When two top teams battle, it is going to be close and the closest games are decided by free-throws.

It will not be a storyline that carries Louisville to victory but it will be the free-throw line. The Cardinals step to the free-throw line for an average of 17.3 attempts per game, which is top 50 in the nation. On the flip side of that, the Badgers allow their opponents 19.8 attempts per game, which is ranked over 200 in the nation.

Aside from more free-throws equaling more foul trouble for Wisconsin, Louisville needs to capitalize on one of their only two stats that they rank in the top 50.
