3. Offensive onslaught; even with a ton of turnovers

Gonzaga backed up their No. 1 ranked offense, with 99 points and shooting 51.4 percent from the field. They were 13-26 from beyond the arc and outrebounded the Hawkeyes, 49-37. This was not a perfect game for the Bulldogs by any stretch of the imagination.

Gonzaga had 18 turnovers and even with Suggs performance, he was also responsible for seven of those. Timme and Kispert each had five turnovers and Watson had four. With the way Gonzaga shot the basketball, turnovers can be an afterthought. However, Iowa showed they could not hang with Gonzaga’s guards and in transition plays.

Points off turnovers is a key stat and Iowa did not do a good job of that. However, Gonzaga won’t be averaging 13 three-pointers throughout the rest of the season and will be playing better defenses.

Better perimeter units like Baylor, Kansas, and  Virginia will play Gonzaga much better. On a day where not many statistical categories looked pedestrian, turnovers were certainly one of them.
