Some NCAA Basketball teams have struggled with the ever-changing start to the season, while others have had a surprisingly strong start.

With about a month gone by and while things are in constant flux with NCAA Basketball games being canceled or postponed daily, and in some cases just hours before tip-off teams are struggling on the floor and others are thriving.

Some of those teams at both ends of that spectrum are the ones that you might expect, Gonzaga, Baylor, and Iowa have gotten off to very strong starts, even though the top two teams in the country are currently on a Covid-related pause, and teams like Boston College, Kansas State and Oakland have really struggled out of the gate.

But, some of the teams that are thriving have been a bit of a surprise to some, causing some of us to re-evaluate what we thought of those particular teams entering the season. These teams run the gambit from power-conference teams to mid-majors that have raised more than a few eyebrows since the season tipped off the day before Thanksgiving.

Now, for some of these teams that momentum may hit a wall as they head into conference play, but they will be looked at more closely as the season progresses to see if they are better than we thought or their starts were a product of factors like scheduling and the uniqueness of the season.

Five of these such teams are a combined 29-3 entering Christmas week and with this being the last week before conference play for most and these six teams to be looking to prove that their starts were no fluke.
