NCAA Basketball Recruiting: 2022 4-star G Ramel Lloyd Jr. trims list to 8

Nebraska Cornhuskers
The Huskers have plenty of work ahead of themselves before they’re a consistently competitive program in the Big Ten. However, Coach Fred Hoiberg has the pedigree to lead Nebraska back to that level along with some patience. Five of the team’s top nine players from this season’s roster will no longer be a part of the team entering the 2022 season and there is a strong recruiting emphasis taking place in order to secure as much balance as possible heading into the future.
While the overall additions of top-50 2021 recruits Wilhelm Breidenbach and Bryce McGowens are significantly positive signs regarding the direction of the program, more reinforcements are needed to elevate the team’s play.
Hoiberg has been very reliant on transfers to this point, given their development and experience at the collegiate level, but talent is what the Huskers need. Lloyd has the physical attributes and track record of production capable of becoming an immediate and thoroughly used asset if he joined the program in 2022.
Getting a commitment from Lloyd would be a huge boost towards achieving continued success. He’s capable of playing multiple guard positions and enables Coach Hoiberg a lot of versatility with lineup construction throughout games to match the play of Big Ten powers.
With the Huskers, Lloyd would receive every opportunity to earn a starting role, but could also feature prominently in the gameplan alongside Breidenbach and McGowens. Joining the up and coming Huskers may not be such a farfetched idea after all.
