There were a bunch of teams that made great strides this week; who helped their overall resumes for Bracketology the most?

There have been interruptions, cancellations, and postponements, but we have reached the New Year with most of the college basketball world still playing their games. The pandemic and precautions have created a very uneven and unusual schedule, but college basketball continues regardless of these circumstances.

As we hit January, we’ve begun conference play in each and every league. For some teams, their chance to prove themselves comes in these next few weeks, while others will just try to keep winning until postseason play begins in March. In a season of unexpected turns and twists, there’s no telling which teams will stand out, or which teams will sit out as more and more teams go on pause from positive test results.

Another consequence of the calendar turning to the new year is that we’re a month closer to March Madness. We’ve hit the point where interest in bracketology is starting to rise. We’ll spend the next few months watch as bubble teams struggle and rise, while other programs jockey for seeding and positioning. Even for mid-majors and low-majors, their play in the next few months will play a major role in how they fare in the NCAA Tournament, which is coming sooner than you think.

With Christmas behind us, we’ve seen another week of exciting basketball action, and we’ll be taking a look at some of the biggest winners from this past week. With the holidays now over, the schedules become fuller again as conference games take over. Recently, we’ve seen how a few teams have fared in power conference play while watching as mid-majors and other promising teams compete in their leagues.

Without further ado, let’s look closely at five teams that have watched their stock rise on most bracketology boards.
