The No. 1 ranked 15-0 Gonzaga Bulldogs face their next test Thursday when then they take on San Diego. Gonzaga is coming off a recent 95-49 blowout of Pacific. The Zags had four players with double figures and Jalen Suggs had a great game with 9 points 11 rebounds and 8 assists.

Gonzaga has a three-headed monster in Suggs who has a shot to be the number 1 pick in the 2021 NBA draft. He’s scoring 13.9 points per game and averaging 5.2 rebounds per game along with 4.9 assists per game. Drew Timme is one of the best big man in the game that contributes 18.5 points and 6.9 rebounds while Corey Kispert who’s the best shooter in college basketball is leading the team in scoring with 20.6 points per game and shooting 49% from three.

Other major contributors for the Zags is do-it-all guard Joel Ayayi 12.5 points 7.5 rebounds and 3.7 assists per game. He’s a really high IQ player who does a lot of things well on the offensive and defensive end. Andrew Nembhard is a transfer from Florida who is a great pick and roll passer who has a 4-1 assist to turnover ratio. Anton Watson is another starter for the Bulldogs. He is known to be a very good versatile defender.

The San Diego Toreros are 2-6 overall and 1-3 in conference. The Toreros are coming off a 78-70 win against Portland and were led by Josh Parrish with 20 points and 8 rebounds. San Diego also had 4 other players in double figures.

The leading scorer with Joey Calcaterra with 14.7 points per game. He’s also shooting 42.3% from three and an impressive 95% from the free-throw line.

If you look at San Diego’s Kenpom, they do a pretty good job holding their opponents off the glass and have a solid two-point defense ranking in the top 85 in the country. But they really struggle shooting the ball on the offensive end ranking 298th in effective field goal percentage.

Gonzaga is a much more talented team and should easily win. San Diego has to slow the game down and control the glass if they want to keep the game competitive but the Zags should roll.
