Texas Tech travels to Baton Rouge to take on LSU as part of the SEC/Big 12 Challenge on Saturday. Head Coach Chris Beard and the Texas Tech Red Raiders are looking to put an end to their two-game losing skid that has consisted of an eight-point loss to Baylor and a one-point loss to West Virginia. Head Coach Will Wade and the LSU Fighting Tigers ended a two-game losing streak themselves Tuesday night with a twelve-point victory at Texas A&M.

The Red Raiders enter the game with a 4-4 Big 12 record that has them in fifth place in the Big 12. Their current AP ranking of No. 10 comes off the strength of four losses versus top 25 teams by eleven points or less. The Red Raiders most impressive victories have been over Texas and Oklahoma

For their part, the Tigers have yet to be in the AP Poll top-25 as they have lost to their best opponents in Saint Louis, Florida, and Alabama. The Tigers’ highest quality wins came at the expense of Arkansas and Mississippi. Both teams will be looking to not only benefit from a win for themselves but add a little shine to their respective conference as well.

Each team features numerous double-digit scorers as the Tigers’ third-best SEC scoring offense is led by freshman guard Cameron Thomas. The Red Raiders counter with their junior transfer Mac McClung. The storylines expand beyond and the outcome depends on more than just the two top scorers, but as the storylines are presented, and the whistle blows, each team will be scrapping to create its own narrative
