Pac-12 Basketball: Underappreciated player from each team for 2020-21
Colorado Buffaloes – Jeriah Horne
The Colorado Buffaloes are having a good season at 13-5 and 7-4 in league play they to be set in the NCAA tournament field even after their home loss to Utah. McKinley Wright, the Buffalos senior point guard is their leader and has been their best player.
But fellow senior Jeriah Horne a grad transfer from Tulsa who originally started his career at Nebraska has had a pretty good season. Horne has improved his efficiency this he improved at Colorado to go along with his 11.1 points and 5.3 rebounds. He’s pretty close to shooting 50-40-90 from the field at 47-44-93 witch would be an extremely impressive achievement.
Horne’s best game of the year was a win he had 15-11 in a loss to Tennessee where he was 3-6 from behind the arc. At 6’7 220 pounds with the ability to shoot from the outside and score inside Horne provides a tough matchup on the offensive end.
This Colorado team has a lot of older versatile guys and that has made them an NCAA tournament team. With the play of Horne, Evan Battey, and Dallas Walton the balance from Colorado helps makes them successful. But, Jeriah Horne with his incredible shooting numbers should be talked about more.
