3. Michigan Wolverines (13-1, 8-1)

The good news for Michigan fans is that the team has been practicing after being forced to pause due to University rules. The bad news is that we won’t see them on Thursday against Illinois, as that game was pushed back. Saturday against Wisconsin is the next date, so we’ll see if there’s anything to judge of this team for the upcoming week.

2. Baylor Bears (17-0, 9-0)

The Bears had to postpone this Saturday’s game against TCU but already had their massive win earlier against Texas on the road. It was close for 30 minutes but Baylor was able to pull away, thanks to 27 points from Davion Mitchell and 20 from Jared Butler, with the dup combining to make eight three-pointers.

Assuming the pause isn’t extended, the Bears will have a big home matchup against Texas Tech. They won the first time at their place, 68-60. The break may play into the Red Raiders’ favor but the backcourt for Baylor simply won’t allow them to lose a game.

1. Gonzaga Bulldogs (18-0, 9-0)

After both of their original opponents went on pause, Gonzaga was looking for someone big from the non-conference. But after that failed, they were left with Pacific on the road. That proved to be plenty for the Bulldogs to handle, trailing by as much as seven points in the second half. The No. 1 team in the country did go on a big run late to pull ahead and win, 76-58.

The Bulldogs will now have three straight games on the road this week, starting Monday at BYU. The Cougars are the last team to beat Gonzaga, which happened in Provo. Santa Clara and San Francisco are also on this week’s slate, both also on the road. But both of these teams are just coming off of pauses, so it’ll be interesting to see how they play.

Either way, if Gonzaga is destined to lose before the NCAA Tournament, it’ll be in one of these three games away from home.
