Next games: Tuesday at. Kansas State, Saturday vs. TCU

To the credit of the Longhorns, they were able to hang around with the No. 2 Bears for the majority of the game. However, a lack of bench production and free throw woes would harm the Longhorns.

Texas turned the ball over 17 times and made just three of their 14 free throw attempts. It was a career game from Andrew Jones as he finished with 25 points on 10 of 16 from the field. The Longhorns only had nine fouls and won the rebounding margin. However, it was not enough to de-throne the Bears.

The offense did not end its struggles on Tuesday. Texas would be in a battle with Oklahoma State, forcing overtime after a clutch Cade Cunningham jump shot. Missing all 12 shots attempted in overtime, falling to the Cowboys in Stillwater.

After having a career-high in Austin, Andrew Jones would have his worst game of the season. He finished with 17 but made just two of his 13 three-point shots. Jones also turned the ball over four times and finished shooting 25 percent from the field.

Even with the atrocious offense, the perimeter defense was solid for the Horns. Cunningham made just five of his 22 shots and Texas turned Oklahoma State over 22 times.

After being second in the conference standings, the Longhorns take a slide and essentially, out of the Big 12 title race. Texas is looking to bounce back with two favorable matchups in the next week.
