As we are now fully down the home-stretch of NCAA Basketball conference play with Selection Sunday and conference tournaments starting to loom closer and closer, it is imperative that you are securing quality wins to add to your NCAA Tournament resume at any chance possible. How do you do this? It’s quite simple, win.

Winning games late in the season are important in every sport but in particular college basketball. Why is college basketball different from other sports? It’s not just winning to make the “playoffs,” you have to win as many games as possible to build up a resume for yourselves to be selected into the NCAA Tournament. Only 64 teams get this honor of playing in March, which is why winning games in January and especially February becomes very important.

During the first week of February, there were many different teams and players that had a phenomenal week by picking up a few big wins to add to their NCAA Tournament resumes. While you can make the case that a few of these teams are already considered a lock to be dancing in March, there are also a few teams this week that helped their chances to play into March.

Surprise upsets, phenomenal performances, and teams living on the bubble moving either closer to March or further away, this week in college basketball had it all. Let’s take a look at six teams that had a very successful first week of February, and where they now currently sit with Selection Sunday drawing near.
