Ole Miss Rebels

A team that many people might not realize had a great week was the Ole Miss Rebels. The Rebels came into this week sitting right at .500 overall, and picked up two big road wins to improve to 10-8 overall and 5-6 in the SEC.

The Rebels started the week with a trip to Knoxville where they picked up a 52-50 win over #11 Tennessee. Yes, Ole Miss went into Knoxville and beat one of the best defensive teams in college basketball, partly due to holding the Volunteers to without a field goal for over 12 minutes in the second half. This was the first win for Ole Miss over a ranked team in over two years.

Ole Miss backed up their big win during the week by going into Auburn on Saturday and defeated the Tigers 86-84. Senior guard Devontae Shuler led the Rebels with 26 points, which included a game-winning buzzer-beater in overtime to give the Rebels the win. Grad transfer Romello White also had a career-high 30 points and 10 rebounds for the Rebels.

While these two wins might not put the Rebels into the Bubble conversation, Ole Miss will have more opportunities for quality wins as early as this week as the Rebels will host #18 Missouri in their next game.
