1. Who beats Baylor? Does anyone beat them? – Dave (@mulld37)

As I mentioned on Twitter I am so glad that someone asked me this question. Baylor is clearly one of the best two teams in the country alongside Gonzaga. The Bears are currently undefeated and don’t appear anywhere close to taking a loss.

I was a little worried about Baylor as they made the trek from Waco to Austin last week for a game against a top ten team in Texas. That matchup clearly didn’t have any effect on the Bears. Baylor dismantled Texas and had me questioning whether or not they were not a better overall team than Gonzaga.

I have mentioned this a few times before but Baylor is a legitimate National Championship contender and is coached by one of the best coaches in the game in Scott Drew. For those just joining us yes, Scott Drew can coach and he can do it very well. Baylor is led by their All-American and player of the year candidate Jared Butler. Butler is fantastic but it’s his backcourt mate who makes this team what they are and makes this team almost unbeatable.

Auburn transfer Davion Mitchell is putting up video game numbers from the floor. He is shooting nearly 50% from deep and 55% overall. He is helping pick up the scoring load on the offensive end and provide a viable third option behind Butler and MaCio Teague.

Right now, it doesn’t appear that anyone in the Big 12 is going to have the firepower to beat Baylor. The Bears still have some tough games coming up but have passed every test up to this point.

Right now it appears Baylor and Gonzaga are on a course to finally play each other in the National Championship game. Gonzaga is the only team who appears to be good enough to beat Baylor in the entire country. Yes in the entire country. So buckle up for the last month and a half of action as Baylor hopes to finish their quest in the Big 12 undefeated.

If Gonzaga and Baylor enter the title game undefeated it would be the first time in history that both of the title game participants enter the game undefeated. Baylor will enter the tournament undefeated and they wont likely be challenged until well into the second weekend.
