Baylor Basketball: 5 teams that can beat the Bears in 2020-21 season
By Andrew Tineo
In their first game against Baylor, Oklahoma shot horrendously from beyond the arc, hitting 16 percent. De’Vion Harmon had among his worst games in conference play and the Sooners bench only supplied nine points.
Since that point, however, the Sooners have been playing like a different team. Harmon and Umoja Gibson have played significantly better and have been consistent, while Austin Reaves and Brady Manek have missed a game or two.
The more notable jump has been from Gibson. The transfer from North Texas is shooting at an efficient rate, coming off the bench. He has connected on 44 percent of his shots from three-point range and has been a key during the Sooners winning streak.

Gibson has scored in double figures in five straight games. Oklahoma has won six out of their last seven including three straight wins of Kansas, Texas, and Alabama. This one is starting to seem less likely, because of the chances Oklahoma gets at Baylor.
Another key for a team is being an experienced group with leaders who have multiple years starting. Reaves and Manek have been four-year starters and been leading the program over the past few years.
That experience, combined with the emergence of Harmon and Gibson makes the Sooners appealing
With a limited amount of spots left in the regular season for games, Oklahoma playing Baylor again looks to be unlikely. If the Sooners did another crack at Baylor, I like their chances better than their matchup back on January 6.
