Reasoning as to Missouri not being good enough

The combination of Tilmon being a back to the basket type scorer and not one of his teammates are able to connect on at least 40 percent of their attempts from beyond the arc is compounded by Tilmon’s inability to at least be a threat from the three-point line.

Tilmon has not attempted a single three-point shot, therefore, the defense is well aware that any screen action between point guard Xavier Pinson and Tilmon is going to be a pick’n’roll. With Pinson’s three-point percentage being 32 percent and having hit more than two three-pointers in a game just five games it allows Tilmon’s defender to play off the screen and wait for the roll, while Pinson’s man can go under the screen, essentially making the roll useless and forcing Tilmon to re-post on the block.

Another reason Tilmon being such a focal point will result in an early exit by the Tigers’ are his fifty personal fouls on the season. Any team that Tilmon would be able to dominate on the offensive end, he will have difficulty guarding on the defensive end. Tilmon has managed to stay under three fouls in just three games. If the Tigers hope to have any success with offensive rebounding, they will need Tilmon on the floor.
