Bracketology 2021: Creighton, Loyola-Chicago, Arkansas among big winners

Creighton
In previous posts, we’ve talked about the Big East at great extent, focusing on how the league has greatly changed over the last decade, especially now with UConn back in the league. Villanova continues to be the best team in the conference, but there’s plenty of other contenders, at least for postseason glory. As they say, if you want to be the best, you have to beat the best.
Creighton did just that this week. They got the week started with a road win at Georgetown, avenging a loss from last week by knocking off the Hoyas by 15 points. Then, it was Marcus Zegarowski’s season-high 25 points to help lead the Blue Jays over #5, Villanova, giving them by far their best win of the season.
Creighton sits at 16-5, with a 12-4 mark in the Big East. There have been some questionable losses, dropping a game to 4 of the 5 worst Big East teams, but have taken care of business against the better teams in the conference. Saturday’s win was their third over a ranked team in four chances, and they did it in impressive fashion, knocking off Villanova by 16 points.
The Blue Jays are an impressive team that has played some terrible games this season. Ahead, they still have a road trip to Villanova, but should build a few more wins on their mark and are set up well for the NCAA Tournament. If they can play more consistently, then this is a team that could go on a postseason run, especially if they keep excelling against superior foes.
