Busting Brackets has another batch of top-25 NCAA Basketball power rankings. But this weekend, the numbers that were more important to teams were the current seed lines given Sunday from the Selection Committee. With a month to go until Selection Sunday, the top-16 overall seeds were given out, with the Big 12 and Big Ten getting half.

Gonzaga currently is the No. 1 overall seed, while Baylor is just behind at 2. Ohio State and Michigan got the other two top spots in their respective regions. The good news for them and the other teams is that there is still a month to get big wins and solidify some reasons, as well as climb into the top-25 overall rankings.

Unfortunately for Drake, Oklahoma State, and UCLA, their defeats from the past week had dropped out of our latest collective rankings. To see who replaced them and where everyone else is ranked, check out our top-25, along with this week’s contributors.

Teams who received at least one vote include VCU, Florida, Colorado, Oklahoma State, and LSU.

25. Rutgers Scarlet Knights (12-7, 8-7)

The Knights simply didn’t have enough firepower to keep up with Iowa this past week, falling by 13 points. The good news is that they did have enough to get by Northwestern this weekend, winning 64-50. Jacob Young led all scorers with 15 points off the bench, while both Ron Harper Jr. and Myles Johnson each recorded double-doubles.

Rutgers is in a solid position to make the 2021 NCAA Tournament but could all but guarantee it with a road victory over No. 3 Michigan this week. It’s the only game of the week for the Scarlet Knights so no reason why not empty the tank to try and get the massive upset?
