Making Adante Holiman’s list are Arizona, Arizona State, Saint Louis, DePaul, Tulsa, Akron, and South Alabama. Prior to the start of the most recent high school season, only four schools were confident enough to take a chance on the Oklahoma guard. Akron was the only program to provide him a scholarship offer from the above list of schools, truly signifying how quickly Holiman has elevated himself in the NCAA Basketball recruiting landscape.
He took the lack of interest personally and put in hours in the gym to make himself better. He understood the drive he needed to have to command notice of his talents. In his junior season for McAlester HS (OK), Holiman is averaging 31 points, 5 rebounds, 4 assists, and 5 steals per game and has completely elevated his playing performances on a nightly basis. His effort and increased production have resulted in a rapid pursuit by multiple Power 5 and top mid-major programs in the last several months.
Programs are beginning to understand the extremely balanced arsenal in Holiman’s game and how effective he can be on the court. Despite being 5’10”, he attacks defenses without a bit of concern and makes smart plays to win ball games. With deep range on his jumpshot, the allure of bringing in a talent nearing the rare 50/40/90 shooting mark (53% FG/42% 3/85% FT) is hard to pass on.
With 7 choices on the table, I rank how Holiman fits in with each program and which offer the immediate opportunity to contribute at a high level.
