3. Arizona Wildcats

The Wildcats have had a successful season, but a key injury to point guard Jemarl Baker Jr. has resulted in Arizona regressing a bit. Fortunately for head coach Sean Miller, this year’s roster has plenty of lead guard depth with transfers James Akinjo (Georgetown) and Terrell Brown (Seattle) and freshman stud Kerr Kriisa. With Baker injured for the rest of the season with a torn ACL, Brown is the only guard likely to leave the roster prior to 2021.

With tremendous guard depth next season, not to mention shooting guards Benedict Mathurin and Dalen Terry, Arizona should have no issues picking up where they left off at the end of 2021. To boot, Sean Miller has already received the commitments of top-100 guards Shane Nowell, K.J. Simpson, and Shane Dezonie furthering the talent arriving in Tucson next season. The projected stable of guards two seasons from now is still jam-packed enough that the path to immediate playing time remains cloudy.

Holiman’s skill set fits very well with the strengths of the Arizona program. He shoots the ball well from the perimeter, can create for his teammates, and is a leader on the floor to help boost the play of his team. However, Miller has seemingly resorted to playing a more traditional lineup with his players that narrows how many minutes he can conceivably receive from the jump. While the appeal of Arizona is strong, there are better options on the table for Holiman.
