Georgia’s Late Run and Second-Half Comeback

As mentioned on the previous slide, Missouri actually had a big lead late in the second half. Georgia came out ice cold to start the second half, and it appeared that Missouri was going to snap their two-game losing streak and cruise to a victory Tuesday night in Athens. However, things did not go as planned.

After Missouri started the second half on an 11-2 run to bring the score to 48-35 with around 14:00 left, Georgia went on a run to tie the score 60-60 with around six minutes remaining. The Bulldogs would then go on to outscore the Tigers 20-10 for the remainder of the game to take an 80-70 victory.

Even though Missouri came into this game ranked as the #20 team in the AP Poll, it appeared that Georgia was the better team solely based off the last six minutes of Tuesday night’s game.

With the game tied, a massive 3-point play by Toumani Camara and a big 3-pointer by Sahvir Wheeler gave the Bulldogs a bit of a lead before KD Johnson went on an 8-0 run under two minutes remaining to put the game out of reach.

This was a badly needed win for head coach Tom Crean and the Georgia Bulldogs, and is hopefully a win that can give some momentum as they face a tough trip to Gainesville to face Florida in their next contest. Can this win get Georgia back on track, or is it too late for Tom Crean and Co.?
