South Carolina Gamecocks

From the current K-State coach to the previous one in Frank Martin. His demeanor and intensity took the College Basketball world by storm with the Wildcats. In his five seasons in Manhattan, Martin won at least 20 games every season. Those Jacob Pullen teams were a joy to watch.

He later moved onto South Carolina and he hasn’t had the same success. In nine seasons, he has only reached the twenty-win plateau twice, but all is forgiven in his only NCAA Tournament appearance with the Gamecocks.

Their Final Four run was somewhat improbable. Knocking off major programs, such as Duke, Baylor, and Florida along the way as a seven seed was fantastic. Having the likes of eventual NBA players like Chris Silva, PJ Dozier, and Sindarius Thornwell made that Final Four dream into a reality.

Since that 2016-2017 season, Martin’s record is a measly 56-54. South Carolina is 5-9 this season and giving up just over 76 points a game. For an experienced team, the Gamecocks should be having more success. I personally don’t want to be chewed out by Frank Martin, so I’ll just leave this as is.
