There are few things like March Madness. Nowhere in sports can you throw out all the records and accomplishments of a season and expect the unexpected like when the college basketball season enters the month of March.

Arguably the best part of March Madness is the upsets, or in familiar terms, the “madness.” Who can forget the legendary moments when UMBC became the first 16 seed to beat a 1 seed when they took down Virginia, or when Lehigh knocked off powerhouse Duke. Upsets are a part of March, and this season will be no different.

There are teams currently ranked in the AP Top 25 that we know are legit, and will be a problem to face in the NCAA Tournament.

However, there are also a few teams not currently ranked in the AP Top 25 that will be very capable of playing the role of “spoiler” and make a deep run in the NCAA Tournament.

No, not all of these teams are virtually unknown smaller schools like past great March upsets. However, these teams have had their moments throughout this season, and while they may have slipped up a couple of times, they have shown they can play with anyone. Make no mistake, all of these teams are legit and can beat any team in college basketball on any given night.

Let’s take a look at five teams currently unranked in the AP Top 25 that you do not want to see on your side of the bracket as a potential matchup this March.
