Every year in the NCAA Tournament you can count on one thing happening, upsets. Lower seeded teams will defeat higher seeds, and the “Madness” in March Madness will occur. One thing that helps these higher seeds though however from getting upset is an elite-level offense and elite-level defense.

There are a few teams in college basketball that have shown that they are an elite team both ways over the course of this season, and have set themselves apart from the rest.

On offense, these teams set themselves apart not only by their star power and ability to score with ease but also with their style of play. Yes, these teams do have some of the best players in college basketball, but these teams also play offense in a way that if you don’t score with them you will not have a chance to win. Scoring 100 points in a college game and the thought of it comes easy to these four teams, and that is something that sets them apart.

On defense, these teams also have the ability to completely shut down your offense at times. Whether it is contesting shots at the rim, or not even allowing you to get close to the rim, these teams have shown they can play elite defense against anyone. These teams can also turn their defense into offense on a fast break, and if that happens, it’s hard to contend against these teams.

Let’s take a look at the teams that are considered elite on both offense and defense this season, and how that will benefit these teams this March in the NCAA Tournament.
