Arkansas

For years, the spotlight of the SEC fell on Florida and Kentucky, with a few other teams occasionally getting a brief moment in the spotlight. There has been a recent movement in the conference as other teams have gotten much better in recent years, though this season has been a bit of a dud for many. As Alabama has dominated the conference, it’s been Arkansas who’s stood out as the clear number two.

Arkansas proved that this week in their two wins. They knocked off #6 Alabama on Wednesday, beating the Crimson Tide by 15 in a game where Moses Moody put up 24 points. The Razorbacks picked up their second win of the week against LSU come Saturday, taking care of business against the Tigers.

The Razorbacks are now 19-5, with a very impressive 11-4 mark in SEC play. They’ve actually won 9 straight SEC games, with a loss to Oklahoma State their only blemish in that span. An undefeated February certainly elevated Arkansas’s stock, especially one with wins at Kentucky and Missouri along the way.

This incredible month has put Arkansas in great position to land a fantastic seed in the NCAA Tournament, especially if they keep up this stellar play. Prior to the SEC Tournament, all that remains is a road trip to South Carolina and a home date with Texas A&M, two games that are certainly winnable. If they enter the conference tournament on an 8-game winning streak; watch out.
