Red Raiders . 7. team. 468. . 15-8 (7-7). Previous: 7th

Previous Games: 69-74 loss at. Oklahoma State, 68-59 win vs. Texas

Next Games: vs. TCU, vs. Iowa State, at. Baylor

As compared to others, I am critical of Texas Tech and think they are over ranked in the Top 25 rankings. Duke has the same amount of losses as Texas Tech and is playing better than the Red Raiders are.

After making their first shot in overtime, they missed five straight and turned the ball over twice. Even with fouling 23 times up to that point, Tech still had a chance to tie the game and send it to double overtime. However, Kyler Edwards and Mac McClung’s three-point attempts fell short, as Texas Tech is below .500 in conference play.

McClung went 7-16 from the field but made one of his five three-point attempts. The team is inconsistent from beyond the arc, doesn’t rebound the ball terribly well, and is sputtering down the stretch.

Even if it wasn’t the cleanest win over Texas, Texas Tech did not shy away from getting players involved. Eight different Red Raiders scored, including five in double figures.

McClung led the way once again with 16 points on another inefficient game, hitting below 33% from the field. Even if he is the leader on the team, the negative behind McClung will be his consistency from the field.

Texas Tech may not have the most difficult slate of the week but has three games in six games. They will need to be conditioned as they could make some serious noise to end the season.
