This NCAA Basketball weekend is filled with many in-state rivals who are trying to accomplish one of three things. The first may be that a team may have little to no chance of making the NCAA tournament but a win over their in-state rivalry would satisfy their fanbase and help build momentum going into next season.
The second may be that a victory over their in-state rival could greatly increase the possibility of a team being selected for this year’s NCAA tournament. The third and final possibility is that a win over their in-state rivalry may help increase the team’s likelihood of receiving a high seed in their upcoming conference tournament and in the NCAA tournament.
