The Winthrop Eagles and the Campbell Fighting Camels are set to square off in the Big South Championship game in Rock Hill, South Carolina, home to Winthrop. The game is set for Sunday, March 6, 12 p.m. EST on ESPN.

Winthrop comes into the game as the No. 1 overall seed in the tournament. Campbell comes in as the No. 3 overall seed.

Winthrop (22-1), has not lost a game since Jan. 29 and is on an eight-game winning streak. The Eagles defeated Longwood in the semifinal game 82-61.

As for Campbell (17-9), they come in defeating Radford 78-60 in the other semifinal game. The Fighting Camels had previously lost both games to Radford earlier in the season, and have not lost a game since.

Both these teams played earlier in the season with Winthrop taking both, 84-83 and 94-76.

Winthrop has the advantage over Campbell in almost every category. The Eagles separate themselves when it comes off the glass. According to TeamRankings, Winthrop is the eighth-best team in the nation with 40.6 rebounds per game. As for Campbell, the team averages 27.8 rebounds per game, ranking them 344 in the country.

Winthrop likes to get up and go when scoring. They rank 18th in the country, with 79.5 points per game.

Senior guard, Chandler Vaudrin headlines this Eagles offense going into this championship matchup. He averages 12.4 points per game, 7.0 rebounds per game, and 7.0 assists per game, leading his team in every category.

In two matchups against Campbell earlier this season, he had one of his three triple-doubles.

The key for Campbell is to slow down Vaudrin, but also to play their style of basketball. As a team they have an effective field goal percentage of 56.1%, ranking them 12th in the country.

Campbell plays on average nine players a game, and six of them shoot the ball 50% or better from the field.

The Fighting Camels are headlined by junior forward Cedric Henderson Jr. and Jordan Whitfield. Henderson Jr. comes in averaging 15.3 points per game on 50.9% shooting from the field. Whitfield averages 14.5 points per game on 48.7% shooting from the field.

According to ESPN, Campbell is 11-0 on the season when their opponents score 61 points or less, and 6-9 when giving up 61 points or more.

This game will come down to rebounds. If Campbell can control the ball off the rim on the offensive and defensive side this game will go down to the wire.

Winthrop has to keep playing the way they have. One loss this whole season, and a combined average scoring margin of 12.1 points per game.

Winthrop looks to defend their Big South Championship where they won last season against Hampton 76-68.

Campbell looks to win their first Big South Championship since the 1991-1992 season.

My predictions, Vaudrin nears a triple-double and has more than 18 points which are enough to push Winthrop over Campbell.

Prediction: Winthrop 85, Campbell 75
