24. St. Bonaventure Bonnies (15-4, 11-4)

The Bonnies took a damaging but non-fatal home loss to Dayton in the regular-season finale before playing in the Atlantic 10 Tournament. So be on the safe side, St. Bonaventure needed to get to the finals and avoid any bad losses overall. And that’s what they did, beating Duquense and Saint Louis to get to the finals against VCU, which will be next week.

Losing to the Rams, another projected NCAA Tournament team out of the conference, wouldn’t be a bad loss so barring many Bracketologists being wrong, St. Bonaventure should already be in the field of 68. But just to avoid all sweating, they should just beat VCU in the rubber match.

23. Virginia Tech Hokies (15-5, 9-4)

Another unfortunate pause has kept the Hokies off the court for most of the past month, canceling the past few games. The good news for them is that they’re still the No. 3 seed in the upcoming ACC Tournament, also meaning a double-bye to the quarterfinals. But they’ll have to shake off some serious rust in their first game back.

22. Colorado Buffaloes (20-7, 14-6)

The Buffs ended the regular season with four straight wins, including this week’s 75-61 victory over Arizona State at home. McKinley Wright IV led all scorers with 24 points, while forward Jeriah Horne was highly effective, producing 12 points and 12 rebounds off the bench.

Colorado should be safely in for the NCAA Tournament but one more win in the Pac-12 Tournament should all but guarantee that. They’re the No. 3 seed and will have a bye, so should be in good shape this week.
