6. team. 468. . 17-9 (9-8). Previous: 7th. Red Raiders

Previous Games: 69-49 win vs. TCU, 81-54 win vs. Iowa State, 73-88 loss at. Baylor.

Texas Tech won’t win many games, where McClung scores just four points. However, with Kyler Edwards having 20 points, that will help the load. Edwards did nearly all of his damage in the first half, with 17 and four assists in the first 20 minutes.

Tech did majority of their work down low, as 79% of their makes were from inside the arc. In prep for a three-game week, a dominating win could create momentum, for seeding within the conference and the NCAA’s.

The Red Raiders would then slam the door on Iowa State, with a resounding 27 point win at home. McClung would get back on track, with 20 points on 7-12 shooting. Texas Tech spread the shooting load, with five players in double figures. That included an impressive performance from freshman Micah Peavy.

Peavy doesn’t take many shots on the season, but had 12 points on 6-8 shooting, his second-highest scoring output of the season. The other Red Raiders that finished in double figures were Marcos Santos-Silva, Terrance Shannon Jr., and Edwards, with 14, 12, and 11 points respectively.

With just ten minutes left in the game, Texas Tech was well within range of a comeback. However, a ferociously hot shooting night from beyond the arc from Baylor hurt the Red Raiders’ chances.

Texas Tech finished with an excellent 9-18 from beyond the arc and only coughed the ball up seven times. However, it was a three-point onslaught from Baylor that was too much. In the final eight minutes of the game, Tech could not match the intensity of the Bears.

For Texas Tech, they will play in the Quarterfinals of the Big 12 Tournament against No. 3 Texas.
