Iowa Hawkeyes vs. Western Kentucky Hilltoppers

This is a matchup that probably has no chance of happening for many reasons. Western Kentucky could lose to the Mean Green of North Texas and their season would be over. On the other hand, if the Hilltoppers win, they’d probably be a 12-13 seed. Iowa seems to be a two seed, if not definitely a three seed. However, a matchup between Charles Bassey and Luka Garza would be one of the best matchups between bigs we’d see all year.

As I said, this matchup probably wouldn’t take place, but Charles Bassey is probably the best mid-major player in the country. The big man is averaging 17.9 points, 11.5 rebounds, and over three blocks a game. Western Kentucky also beat a high-octane offense in Alabama earlier in the season, so they definitely have the firepower to do it.

Other matchups in this game that move the needle are Taveion Hollingsworth against Joe Weiskamp, as well as the freshman Dayvion McKnight verse the super senior Jordan Bohannon.

This game is unlikely, but even an Iowa verse Morehead State game would be great. Johni Broome against Garza would be a fantastic matchup too.
