(6) BYU vs (11) Michigan State / UCLA

The Cougars get a weird first-round matchup. They will be the favorite against either Michigan State or UCLA who are playing in a first four-game. If you have a guess on who they will play, then more power to you because both the Bruins and Spartans have been Jekyll and Hyde this year.

Both have the talent to beat BYU, but both could get blown out also. Neither has been consistent enough, so we are taking BYU in this game, for no other reason than we just don’t think the other two teams can put two good games in a row together.

Prediction: BYU

(3) Texas vs (14) Abilene Christian

The Longhorns are a lot better and it will show. Texas has a ton of length, can score, and is battle-tested. Abilene Chrisitan is a nice story, but one that doesn’t have enough to compete in this game. The Longhorns should have their way with them and I can’t see any way this game is close. Prediction: Texas
