NCAA Tournament 2021: Illinois, West Virginia headlines Midwest Region

Oh man, how the Midwest Region is going to be a gauntlet. It seems like an eternity since we have been able to discuss a region of any bracket, with the cancellation of last year’s NCAA Tournament. However, players, coaches, and fans have finally made it one of the most exciting times of the sports year.
Illinois headlines the Midwest region, coming in with a 23-6 record on the season. Other conference champions from power leagues, includes Houston winning the American, Oregon State winning the Pac 12 and Georgia Tech winning the ACC.
Some of the hottest teams in the country enter the Midwest region, a region that is littered with NBA talent and high-end college players.

Loyola Chicago is the definition of a Cinderella story and is capable of making a deep run, with their elite defense. Liberty and San Diego State have not lost a game in over two months and Jim Boeheim has a trend for exceeding expectations with a low ranking in the tournament.
Morehead State has one of the most underrated freshmen in the country and presents a matchup to keep an eye on in the first round.
All of that and quite a bit more is in store for the region. Here’s a look at some key players in the region.
