2. Which double-digit seed can make a Sweet 16 or beyond run?

Brown

I have to go local in the DMV area and say Georgetown or Maryland in the East region. Both of these teams fought hard late in the season to get into the NCAA Tournament. Although the Terps got knocked off by Michigan in the quarterfinals, they still are an excellent squad. Would I love as a fan to see the Terps and Wolverines battle it out again, absolutely but I doubt that matchup will take place.

For Georgetown to make the Sweet Sixteen, they’d have to get past Florida State. Talk about a significant upset for Patrick Ewing and the Hoyas; that would be a statement victory.

It would not shock me at all to see Michigan State make a run here. Besides the losses
to Maryland, Sparty is 6-2 in their last eight including wins over Illinois, Ohio State, and
Michigan.

Which double-digit seed can make a Sweet 16 or beyond run? Georgetown is as hot as any team right now. We have seen teams make runs out of the Big East before and the Hoyas have a favorable draw to do that.

Stevenson

The only double-digit seed I have winning is Georgetown is because I don’t think Colorado is very good. I wouldn’t be surprised if Michigan State made a run just because they seem to always make a run when they’re a high seed.

Melton

While no team will want to play the winner of Michigan State/UCLA, Georgetown is the pick for me. The Hoyas have a lot of momentum currently after winning the Big East Championship and are one of the more popular picks for a 5/12 upset over Colorado. Could they upset Florida State potentially as well?
