Cam Thomas to lead LSU Basketball over Osun Osunniyi and St. Bonaventure
Despite falling to Alabama in the SEC championship game last week, LSU Basketball was fortunate enough to be one of the 68 teams selected to be in the NCAA Tournament on Selection Sunday.
The Tigers certainly experienced a few struggles during the regular season, such as getting swept by Alabama and dropping a winnable home game against Texas Tech in devastating fashion, but winning four of their last five games should have the Tigers feeling good about themselves entering March Madness.
The Tigers received an 8 seed and will face off against the 9th seeded St. Bonaventure Bonnies on Saturday at 1:45 p.m. on TNT. The Bonnies enter the NCAA Tournament winning six of their last seven games, with their latest win coming against VCU in the Atlantic 10 championship game. The Bonnies were believed to be an NCAA Tournament lock going into their conference championship game against the Rams, but it certainly didn’t hurt them to take care of business and punch their ticket to the big dance the old-fashioned way.
If there is one thing that LSU needs to learn between now and Saturday, it is that St. Bonaventure is no slouch and shouldn’t be viewed as a team that the Tigers will easily steamroll. Failure to watch the appropriate amount of film and prepare for the contest accordingly could lead to an unsatisfying result for the Tigers in the Round of 64.
To me, there are 3 things that LSU should emphasize heavily going into Saturday’s match-up against St. Bonaventure, and in this article, I will delve into each of those three things in great detail.
