The NCAA tournament is known for upsets. Sometimes a team from a smaller conference makes a run and captures the attention of the country. Or a power-five team that barely gets in their goes on a run. I’m gonna take a look at 10 double-digit seeds that are capable of winning a game in March.

UC Santa Barabra Gauchos

The UC Santa Barbara Gauchos play Creighton in a 5-12 matchup. Creighton is a good team, even though they got blown out against Georgetown the Blue Jays have a lot of talent. Marcus Zegarowski is one of the best guards in the country. Mitch Ballock is one of the best shooters in college basketball and is comfortable shooting from about anywhere. Denzel Mahoney is really good as well.

A way the Gauchos can take advantage is Creighton a pretty small team. Amadou Sow who contributes 13.7 points and 7.6 rebounds and at 6’9 was a first-team all-league guy. Miles Norris a 6’10 player who started his career at Oregon is averaging under 10 points per game. Ajare Sanni is their 3rd leading scorer at 11.2 points per game and shooting just under 40 percent from three who might be out for their first-round matchup.

But the best player for this Gaucho squad is Jaquori McLaughlin a 5th year senior who started his career at Oregon State. McLaughlin who was the Big West player of the year is one of the best mid-major guards in the country. He scores 16.2 points a game to go along with 5.2 assists, McLaughlin also shoots an impressive 48.9/40.2/84.2 line from the field. UCSB certainly has enough talent to upset Creighton.
