Gonzaga Bulldogs: 26-0 (15-0)

Weakness

Let us address the criticism most detractors refer to when creating an argument against Gonzaga, yes they have played a game versus a tournament-worthy team just three times since Dec. 28, 2020. This is mostly due to their conference schedule, yet, this does not mean Gonzaga has not played anybody.

Their ‘lack of competitive games’ will be a deterrent as much as the fact that their conference tournament ended on Mar. 9. Gonzaga’s biggest, or only, weakness may be their depth. While they have the best starting line-up in the nation, and probably the best seven-man rotation, Mark Few will not play many more in a non-blow-out game.

This may become a problem when they need to play Virginia in the Sweet Sixteen then two days later play Iowa in the Elite Eight. Even more difficult with only a day rest between the Final Four and the championship game.

Strength

In short, the Gonzaga Bulldogs are good enough to beat Virginia, West Virginia, Kansas, and Iowa, all teams good enough to be discussed earlier. In those four games, they shot 56 percent from the field, while averaging over 96 points. Averages that are higher than their season averages as well as their conference averages.

With WCC Player of the Year Corey Kispert connecting on 44 percent of his three-pointers, starting point guard, and WCC Freshman of the Year Jalen Suggs using his size alongside Joel Ayayi to shut down opposing guards on defense and overpower them on offense. While being back-upped by WCC Sixth Man of the Year in Florida transfer Andrew Nembhard.

Unless these guys get worn down or roughed up a couple of games in a row, it will be difficult to beat them.
