1. Shoot well from three

This probably isn’t a super in-depth analysis but you need to shoot well from the field to beat teams that are more talented them you. Eastern is a pretty good shooting team they are 38th in the country in offensive effective field goal percentage, 73rd in three-point percentage, 32nd in two-point percentage, and 6th in free throw percentage.

The Eagles run a well-schooled motion offense that gives them a lot of catch and shoots threes. Kansas is a more athletic team than Eastern Washington and for them to win they are going to need to shoot the ball well behind the arc. The Eagles are 10-2 this season while shooting more than 32 percent from three.

But it’s worth noting even though not at full strength against Washington State. When they played against Arizona and Oregon the other power 5 teams on their schedule Eastern failed the shoot more than 32 percent from three. Against a Kansas team that is 104th in the country in three-point percentage defense.

When you play against a team that is more talented than you are. You need to do things very well to hang in there. Like control the glass, take care of the ball but sometimes you just simply need to shoot well and for Eastern to beat Kansas they are gonna need to shoot well from distance.
