With the 2021 NCAA Tournament set to begin, the star power will be on full display. The best teams and players will take the top stage in college basketball where the 64 best teams in the country will meet in Indianapolis to decide a national champion.
Not only will some of the best players in college basketball take the court on college basketball’s biggest stage looking for a championship, but they will also take the court looking to improve their stock for the upcoming NBA Draft against some of the best teams in the country. This will be a test for some of these players that will offer arguably the toughest competition, but also the most exposure that one can get.
Let’s take a look at a few of the top NBA Draft prospects to watch during the 2021 NCAA Tournament, and how each one can improve their draft stock during their stay in the Big Dance.
Cade Cunningham – Oklahoma State
The presumed #1 overall pick in the upcoming NBA Draft, Cade Cunningham has all the talent to lead Oklahoma State on a deep run in the NCAA Tournament.
Cade Cunningham has undoubtedly been the top freshman in college basketball this season. Cunningham is averaging 20.2 PPG on 40+% shooting from two and three-point range, while also averaging 6.3 RPG and 3.6 APG.
Cunningham is by-far the Cowboys best player and has proved it numerous times throughout the season by completely taking over games. Selected as a First-Team All-American (the lone freshman on the list), Cunningham was also named the Big-12 Player and Freshman of the Year, becoming only the 4th freshman to ever win the Big-12 Player of the Year.
4-seed Oklahoma State will face 13-seed Liberty in the Round of 64 in what could be a sneaky game for the Cowboys. Cade Cunningham is firmly cemented as the upcoming #1 overall pick and is the undoubtedly “must-see” player in this year’s NCAA Tournament.
