As both teams cruising to 20+ point victories yesterday, Wisconsin Basketball and Baylor met little resistance en route to their second-round matchup, scheduled for Sunday afternoon. But with a trip to the sweet sixteen now up for grabs, a more contested seems likely to occur.

It took a few minutes for the Bears to find their groove, but upon doing so, they never looked back while dismantling the sixteen seeded Hartford Hawks. MaCio Teague led all scorers with 22 points, going 4/8 from three-point land. Strong contributions from Jared Butler (13 points) and Davion Mitchell (12 points) helped as well, alongside an admirable bench effort that tallied 27 points. The team also forced 24 turnovers while limiting their own count to 10.

A few hours later, the Badgers embarrassed Roy Williams and company, spraying them with 13 three-pointers and winning 85-62. With a career-high 29 points, Brad Davison slaughtered the Tar Heels from deep, going 5/7 from beyond the arc himself. D’Mitrik Trice also added 21 points, snatching five rebounds and three assists as well.

The Badgers last played Baylor three years ago, losing 65-70. But that same year, Wisconsin also defeated an eighth-seeded Virginia Tech during the tournament’s first-round before upsetting the number one-seeded Villanova Wildcats 65-62. Looking for lighting to strike one more, these are three keys to victory for the Badgers.
